Online Training

For your convenience, Process Modeling with BPMN is offered online on-demand.  Click here for current pricing.

In version 3.0, the online training totals around 6 hours, not including time to complete the quizzes and exercises, divided into 12 parts. The delivery format is Flash video, compatible with most web browsers and desktop operating systems. An overview of the course, accessible without purchasing the training, can be used to experience the delivery format, and you can use it to test compatibility with your system.  In addition to the Flash video, student notes are provided as password-protected PDF documents, available only to registered purchasers of the training.

The training syllabus of v3.0, with Flash video playing times, is shown below:

1. Process Modeling and Business-Empowered Implementation (40 minutes)
2. Foundation Concepts (21 minutes)
3. The BPMN Notation (43 minutes)
4. Flow Control with Gateways (37 minutes)
5. Modeling for Process Improvement (39 minutes)
6. The Cool Part of BPMN: Events! (49 minutes)
7. Repeating Activities and Multi-Pool Processes (17 minutes)
8. Exception Handling Patterns (21 minutes)

12. The Art of Process Modeling (25 minutes)

Completion of the online training exercises requires use of the Process Modeler for Visio tool from itp commerce.  In version 3.0, purchasers of the training receive a license key for the tool valid for 60 days. The training key, which provides access to the Flash video and student notes, also expires in 60 days.  Effectively, that means that the training must be completed within a 60-day window.  Upgrades to a permanent Process Modeler for Visio Business Edition license, bundled with 1 year maintenance of the training content and software, are available to purchasers of the training at a discounted price.

The tool is an add-in to Microsoft Visio, so that software is effectively also a prerequisite to the training.  If you do not own Microsoft Visio, you can get a 60-day trial version as a free download from Microsoft.
